17. Qxh8 is completely unnecessary. It's a sacrifice for the sake sacrifice that doesn't achieve anything over normal continuations - nothing beautifull in such a move imo. Actually this move should not even be classified as a sacrifice but rather as a blunder. White still has siginificant material advantage after Qxh8 so it's no wonder you win easily but something normal like 17. Re1+ would be so much easier.
Queen Sacrifices
It's not so much a question of seeing any immediate mating line (altough I wouldn't be suprised if such existed) but rather just that after 17. Re1+ Kd7 18. Qxf7+ Kc8 19. Qxf6 white has extra queen and knight whereas after 17. Qxh8 Rxh8 18. Re1+ Kd7 19. Bb2 followed by Bxf6 white only has an extra bishop and rook.
It's likely that white can force a checkmate quicker with more extra material and with the help of the queen. After Qxh8 black doesn't need to get mated as quickly as he did in the game (18... Kd7; 19... h5).
I have found a beginner who very confident with his bullet skills. He is a player who comes from the Philippines. The guy is strong beginner with high skill proved it with his ridiculous move by losing his queen like a noob but he can make a checkmate without the queen. Awesome!!!
As a result, all the opponents are always willing to accept a rematch. A rare thing in the world of bullet, especially among the beginners.
