I have a great idea. Probably not the first to have it, but I can't find anything on the net like it. Since I have no money to develop it, some rich entrepreneur here on chess.com will have to do it.

Shower chess.

You know how some showers, like mine, have tiled walls? Our tiles are about 5" square. All you would need are the pieces made out of foam and they could just stick to the tiles and you can play chess in the shower. Stupid, yes. Fun, maybe. Interesting? To me, yes.

I got the idea because we bought these alphabet sponges for my son years back that stuck to the wall in the shower. I immediately thought of chess.

Somebody develop this.

Thoughts?

It is interesting, but I cannot imagine it ever having widespread popularity or the ability to, as a product, create a profit margin.

When two are in the shower together, chess should hopefully be the last thing on their minds! Right up there with the presidential elections...

No, you play correspondence style. So if you share a bathroom with somebody then you make a move when you take your shower and they make a move when they take their shower. The time required to take a shower and to make a chess move aren't that different given the distraction of trying to bathe and calculate at the same time. I guess the game would take a month or two to play.

I would probably run out of hot water if I solved puzzles in the shower. It would probably waste millions of gallons of water worldwidwe. Of course I could just use a bath tub instead.

You design it for public bathrooms, and when you enter you hear a voice that says "You are on Black/White, please make a move".

No, I know you don't hate me KW...and the idea was serious. There may be some potential I think - however limited. It's a silly idea, granted, but no more silly that refrigerator chess (magnets). I like the idea of them being little scrub pads or something. That's kinda cool. Maybe pieces of soap that would adhere to the tiles? That way, customers would have to purchase more pieces. Now, edible pieces have already been done. You eat the pieces you capture. Were I a rich food caterer/importer/exporter/supplier/distributor, I would have already funded this shower chess project and made another million or so cash. But that's just me. Laugh if you will at the Shower Chess project - it will not go down the drain.

By the way, does anyone have a slogan to be used for the venture? All comments, of course, appreciated.

That is all.
