You are a really, really bad OTB chess player.

But when you play online, you are really, really, really good.

There is no scientific explanation for this. It is what it is. God works in mysterious ways.

Being a "lefty", you've decided to shop around for a sinistral chess set in the hopes of improving your 0-0-97  losing streak.

You are such a bad chess player that you're contemplating starting a NEW tread (sic) on "signs  you  know  your (sic) a really  good  chess player ".

Problem is, you are clueless. That's the bad news. Good news is, you are "working on it".

Your opponent keeps having to remind you that chess pieces can be a choking hazard.

You're opponent, feeling sorry for you points out the longest variation in a forced mate he has initiated against you.

You're a bad chess player if... you play me and I win.

Your favorite strategy is to point towards the ceiling and exclaim: "Look up there, Eddie!" And, only then, you go in for the kill: "Mate!"

Look...this whole thread is not only disgusting but also absurd.

In these politically correct times, there is no such thing as a "bad" chess player.

I made it all up. Everyone gets an A for effort. At least you tried.

Robert, I think that you have taken the generalized and turned it into the personalized. There was never any intent from me to offend you. Cheers to you. Smile

When you think, 'People talk about Kasparov, is that an opening line or something else or someone?'

Only a guess here, but I suspect that many bad players have never heard of him.

Karpov, and Fischer are the only two chess players I'd ever heard of before joining this site.

About 11 years ago, when I first started playing, I don't know that I had heard of Fischer even. Now I'm following Yifan Hou's career, and can probably name almost a hundred chess masters without any difficulty! That's pretty neat!Smile
