Bad day. Didn't play well today, several slip ups. Guess it's just a case of learning from mistakes.

    Appreciate any comments.

His light squared bishop was staring at your c2 pawn from the beginning and still you played a3 b4 making c2 a bkwd pawn and a target for his rook. You should have thought of playing c4 early in the opening to open up the diagonal for your B on g2.

B on f4 wasnt really necessary and would be better placed on a3 or b2. You missed these better moves in the opening: b3 c4

In any game at our level, it's easy to find lots of little mistakes. This game wasn't that badly played. The previous poster is right about your backwards c pawn. 9.a3 seemd like a loss of time. Were you guarding something? Or preparing the b4 thrust. If the latter, you need to become more concious of pawn structure. Black's position called out for a minority attack against your Q-side majority. If you had played 19.Nc5! you would have shielded your pawn weakness and been holding your own, but this is only because Blacked missed 18...Nxc3!. If 19.Rxce, Nxd4!

You were still breathing until 27. Rc3? If you can avoid these outright blunders, you will find that you can sometimes save unfavorable games through sheer force of will.
