My first loss here drops me to a 92% scoring percentage. I blundered away a piece early on and couls have resigned, but stubbornly played a few moves more. In the course of the game I developed an attack that looked as if it would regain the material, but then went for my opponent's king instead of the material. My own king's security was compromised, however.
Suggestions are welcome.
Look again. Both my knights were secure when White played 14.Kh1. Moreover, my bishop on h2 is protected by the bishop on h5.
I've only ever played this French exchange attack in blitz games, so I may be overagressive. Also, I played it with the knight on f6 and the queen on d7. In a blitz game I would not have hesitated to sac the g4 bishop, 11. h3 h5. If he takes then black has the open h-file. Now that I look again, after 12. hxg4 hxg4 the knight on f3 has nowhere to go. So certainly, 11. ... h5.
If white doesn't take then you are ready at the right moment to play g5, Bxf3 and g4. This will rip open the kingside files. You will probably want to be castled first. I think the Nf6, Qd7 lines lead to castling earlier, but I haven't studied this, so your setup may be more solid.
