What could I have done differently to win this game after 24... Bxd2 where i get a rook for my bishop and his king is stuck in the middle.

25....f5 looks good to me.  You need to bust those files open, otherwise your two advantages(rook pair and White's exposed king) are useless.

Is there any reason why on move 6 you did not play Be3? It develops one of your major pieces and does not weaken your kingside the way that g3 does? I am only curious cause that is the move that I would have played and I think that I have done this in games as well.

In move 15, why did you not castle queenside? I think you left the king too exposed by allowing it to remain in the middle of the board. Again, I am a player who is just learning to play and wonder why some moves are played instead of alternate moves that could have been played instead.

I think there are some inaccuracies with your sequence in post #4, but that's certainly the right idea.

I see two possibilities:

34... Qxf2+ 35 Bxf2 Rxf2+ 36 Ke1 Rf3 followed by 37... Rxe5

36... Rxf5 37 Rxf5 Qxe6 and if 38 Rf2 Bf1 39 Qe3 Qg8 followed by capturing on c4.

At any rate, I think it was an unfortunate choice to lock your bishop in on h3 like that.  You end up having to expend a lot of time and effort trying to free it (plus you miss its influence on the rest of the position in the interim).
