Oh yes ? The Latvian is dubious ?

    How disappointing...

4...Qg5 : I would play 5.d4 and then 5...Qxg2 6.Rf1 is "quietly" favorable for White. "quiet" being out of the Latvian dictionary...

11.c3 ? is played (I think) to prevent ...d4. However, this loses much time as you pointed out. The same problem is solved in a much better way by 11.d4 !

20...Qh5 : I would play ...Re8 instead. Maybe White can escape, but he will need to find precise moves.

I am not so sure White is totally lost in your 30.Qh3+ sideline. After all, material is equal and there is no imminent checkmate. The best I can see is pushing the g pawn forward (although it should be enough to win).

I agree with your 11. d4! move. Without doubt the most active way to go.

My engine likes Qh5 (-5) and gives Re8 as probably winning for Black (-2). I put that in the analysis.

In the Qh3+ sideline, after any king move, the queen can fork or skewer one of Whte's pieces, ending the game.

    Am I correct that after 31 Ke2 Qg2+ white will always lose a piece? Or with 32. Ke3 Bf2+ or with 32 Kd1 Qf1+?

    31. Ke2 is an illegal move.

LoekBergman means after the sideline 30. ... Qh3+

I am sorry coneheadzombie, I should have been more accurate. Owlmoon is right, that I was reacting on the sideline starting with 30. ... Qh3+.

You're right. No  matter what white tries, he loses a significant amount of material.

After Ke3, Bf2+ picks up the bishop.

After Kd1, Qf1+ picks up the rook.
