Within the last month I have gotten back into Chess and have been enjoying it tremendously.  I brought this recent addiction to work and have been playing chess with a coworker during break time. This is one of our recent games.  It started last afternoon and came to completion this morning.  I have posted it here because I was extremely happy with my performance in this game and I wanted to share. Thanks

Thanks for posting!  A few comments:

Capturing on d4 and then ending with the Queen on d4 leaves you exposed to the knight capture on c2 forking the queen and rook. You might have wriggled out of that with Bb5+, but I'm not entirely sure...

11. Kf8 is a terrible move.  As is Qh3 :)

Your checkmate at the end was nice!

You should feel happy with your play in this game! You kept developing your pieces and pushing your pawn.

Thanks for the feedback.  I'm sure my coworker didn't see the fork you mentioned or he would have taken it I'm sure, hell, I didn't even notcie that one. Yikes! Surprised  It may have been an off day for him because I didn't understand why he chose not to castle when he had the chance instead of playing Kf8 which could have kept me from being able to checkmate him the way I did.

Nice checkmate in the end. Even if your friend had captured Nxc2, I believe you could have avoided the damage successfully by moving Qe5+ and then Rb1 (there are several variations in this move but in all the cases white ends up with positional/material advantage).

Qxf7... Yea I didn't see that.  Shows how closed my eyes still are to the game. *shakes head* Thanks Smile
