I've read this often around and I'm wondering... to what end should one use an engine on a place like chess.com? It doesn't really make any sense to me... not even if one "beats" an IM a day here gains anything at all, so... why should one bother? Well... I'm a sw eng. so maybe I'm not an expert in human behaviour, but it really seems total nonsense to me.
tthey want respect. A 1300 isnt nearly as respected as a 2000+ or even a 1600. (I should know :P) they want respect. And maybe bragging rights
Respected... where? on a website? Ok... I really don't get that, I'm too old maybe

@ChillyBilly, your opponent was a bullet junkie from Pittsburgh, who played like a 1400 rated player at your Game in 5/0 speed, BFD.
And you have a nasty habit of playing opponents rated 400-500 points below you.
So you like to beat up little kids?
Both you and your opponent (he's easy to find in your game record) sound like dicks. And the two of you match up nicely in this thread.

wll played ,he was obviously upset that he played badly not good that he said you cheated

Also, I MIGHT have a this thought cannon you speak of. I hope this isn't against the rules of chess.com. Pretty sure I didn't read anything about thought projection in the rules. Maybe the Admins would care to comment.
such technology does actually exist. it's not science fiction. although the only people who have access to such advanced tech are the cia, fbi, and super filthy rich mfers.
don't believe me?
go to youtube and search "nyc billboard A&E ultrasound"
or just search "V2K".
there's also tech that allows a third party to read your thoughts from a remote location. so if this is possible, it would only make sense if the reverse was also possible i.e. putting thoughts into people's minds.
Do you wear a tinfoil hat? lols

believe me, I have had like a thousand people accuse me of cheating, but I can suffiecently say that a 1455 bullet rating, 1320 or so blitz, and 1446 online chess rating does not constitute me using an engine
Just ignore him.
And yea, I agree, HE is probably the one using the engine.

Well played.....!!! wish you continued sucess...

not that you really care since you're so willing to pass judgment, i put out open challenges when i'm not sober (which is often). it's not really fair to anyone wanting to play a rated game to have an intoxicated opponent.
furthermore, i always, ALWAYS, appreciate it when higher rated players are willing to deign to an inferior opponent. anyway, i'm still very much a beginner, and i learn from all my games, regardless of how well or poorly they are matched.

If the guy or gal said "I looked at Fritz and your moves agreed with Fritz' through most/all of the game" then I guess you might be called on to reply.
But a wholly unsupported accusation is just sour grapes and unworthy of notice.
Happily there seem to be a whole lot of more sporting opponents on this site. :)

I think he just wants to feel better by the accusation. I usually say "thanks for the compliment" when someone accuses me of using an engine, or "If it makes you feel better lol"

So, you get drunk (first), then you "deign" to beat up little kids? That's a great character reference for yourself. And you said it, not me.
Perhaps your should think twice about your posts in these public forums.
Some folks (sober or drunk) read closely. Have a nice day.

I play 15 minute games in another forum [ 15 minutes games too fast for me] I have been
accused of cheating--using a machine a couple of times but both times it was in a Ponziani Opening which I know quite well and thus the good moves came to me without cheating.
I once drank six beers in a hotel bar before I played a tournament game and won lol
Played much looser (more aggressive) but was beginning to get sleepy around the 3rd hour. Fortunately, my opponent resigned right around that time

I dont think u are cheating either....just ignore the comment and keep playing....well done :)
AndyClifton
dang cheaters!
Argonaut13
I think he is just mad and giving his excuse to someone about his lose. Dont take it too close to you on what people think you do, if you dont use an engine you have nothing to worry about, I believe he messed up allot.
I wonder if Annabella is married...and is cheating??
Lmao!!!!
God, I hope he doesn't keep on doing this.
Fear_ItseIf
more likely your opponent used an engine to get his 2000, his play way horrible.
