This is a game I recently played, and I warn you this game is 70 moves long.  But, I managed a draw when my opponent seized the initiative.  Any comments on this game are appreciated.

I'm not sure 5.Bxd6 really 'maintains' tempo. After 5...Qxd6 black has 2 pieces developed, white only one. But I would have traded in that situation too.

34.Nxd5 was clever, good job for spotting it. 33...b5 was probably a mistake for him. His a8 rook hasn't participated in this game yet - so far you've essentially been up a bishop. I think he should consider 33...Rd8 instead.

As for conceeding the draw, perhaps he could instead try 67...Ra4+ 68.Ke5 (or Kf5) h3 69.Nxf4 h2 aiming for 70...Ra1 and 71...h1, then 72.Bxh1 Rxa1, but it seems 70.Nd3 Ra1 71.Nf2 foils this plan. Not really sure what else he could do.

Patience, patience, patience.  The idea of controling the 7th rank was good after 18...b6, but you really could have caused some problems for Black with 19. Rfc8. This move accomplishes your goal of hinderance, and two rooks supporting one another with one rook on the 7th rank is wicked.

To answer your question about the response to 33...b5, I would have played 34. axb5 before I hatched Nxd5; you still had time.
