This was a fairly fast-paced game in both playing style (I'm usually not very aggressive) and time controls. I'm hoping that some quicker, more efficient wins can be pointed out by the more experienced or tactically-savvy players.
Instead of 8. 0-0 white can play 8. Qf3 and it looks like the only way to defend the f7 square is to interpose a piece on f5, e.g. 8. ... Bf5 9. g4 attacking the piece, or 9. 0-0.
As you pointed out Bxg6+ was better on a couple occasions.
