Brilliant moves from a 1650 rated

I lost a pawn from the following combination.

There was no need for 2.Bxg2 as the B could not be taken without Black losing his Q.

But now with the h-file open I got compensation for the loss of a pawn by getting chances for an attack on White's K.

    After 3...Rh8 White replied with 4.h4.  Whereupon I pounced on the h-pawn with 4....Rxh4.  See diagram below.  Capturing the R would result in mate in 4 moves: 5.gxh4 Qg4+ 6.K-any Qxh4+ 7.K-any Qg4+ 8.K-any Rh8#

And here's where I take my hats off to my opponent, a 1650 rated when after 5.Rh1 Rxh1 6.Qxh1 Rh8 made the following brilliant moves. I thought I was winning after the Q sac. But my hats off after seeing the follow up.  See diagram below.

The ending is actually very tricky for white, since it's very easy to let the d7 knight get trapped. I'm not totally confident in my analysis here, but it looks like black should win (especially if white is rated 1650)
