Here is a Game I played where my opponent brought his Queen out early, and was properly Punished for doing so!

By using his Queen to develop my pieces, I was able to develop a winning attack. The game lasted 18 moves.

Nice game! But there were a few inaccuracies other than him getting his queen out early (thought he really was asking for it with Qxg7).

In fact the Center Game (3.Qxd4) is more or less respectable, but usually white castles long. 5.Be2 and 6.c3? look a bit too slow.

You had the right idea with 11...Bxf2+!, but I think it's even better if you play it before Neg4, 10...Bxf2! (with the same idea).

Was his 15.Qd1 necessary?

Giving up the queen with 16.Kxf2 led to forced mate, 16.Bxe3 is probably better.

But, fine game of course :-)

Qe3 seems like a terrible blunder.  but you are rated 300 points higher.  no need to pat your self all over the back for beating somebody rated 300 points lower than you.  it wouldn't surprise me if your oopnent didn't play his queen out early as a result of the significant difference in ratings.

I agree, bringing the queen out just gives your opponent a way to develope with tempo.

a closer look at your game history shows that playing a player at 1666 was actually a bit of a step up for you...  there are no victories (or games finished for that matter) in your past 30 games of anyone even remotely near your rating.  i'm thoroughally unimpressed with this game now...  yes your oppoent messed up, yes bringning his queen out early led to his downfall, but dude...  haha.  you have several games in your history against 1000 rated or less players.

sorry man, but you posted it.

When I first started playing chess, I played Center Game mostly and I don't really remember getting punished for bringing the queen out...in fact, I was more successful with it than the Ruy Lopez because the structure is simple to understand. I think Scarbiac is correct when he says Qxg7 was where he was asking for it.

ilikeflags.  4.Qe3 is the book move.

Hmm, 16.Bxe3 is much better and perhaps leaves white with a playable game?

I am certain there is no lesson he could teach me.

ilikeflags, do you have a problem with your cognitive resources? My average opponent is rated higher than you? I have played 2 games against low rated players, I turn down no challenges and enjoy teaching games...

Where does your hostility come from? Challenge me and teach me a lesson ;-)

no hostily at all my simple friend.  it's a bitch move to post a game calling your opponent out for misplaying when you're rated 300 point higher than him.  this has nothing to do with me,.,., although your attempt to make it about me is predictable.  it must be fun playing all those 1400s and 1200s.

i don't believe a person's ability to play chess makes them any more a man...  hahah  just in case you thought i was intimidated.  i would expect if we played that you would out-play me.  you're a 1900 i'm a low 1500.  but it sounds like you revel in this type of challenge.  to each his own.  and to each the ability to comment.

I haven't called anybody out. Your ability to leap to false conclusions is unbelievable. I am neither simple nor your friend. I am not trying to make this post about you, but you keep posting insults, I reply and you think the Post is about you.

rchappening is a class act and a good chess player, I regret making this post. I will not make that mistake again here.

Please do, I love seeing games and puzzles posted on the forums. I don't know what's got into ilikeflags today...

Hi gang,

I was intriged by this exchange.  So, I went an looked at the stats for ilikeflags and e4forme.  The thing that struck me the most was 'ilikeflags' has played 519 games on this site and he has an average response time of 41 minutes and 39 seconds.

..... WOW ....

I enjoy seeing games posted too esp. with cute authoritarian titles like "bringing the queen out early should be punished".  That said...I personally think it's always best if you post games in which you are the lower rated of the two players or it's fairly close...maybe that's just my own thing but I tend to think that's in better form.

Afaf, I see your point, but a game is a game, a win is a win, and a distressed queen is a distressed queen! I think it's especially ok to post a game with a lower rated opponent if there is a particular theme, like the one shown here.

not a bad point, but i beat lower rated players a lot--many of us do.  they make mistakes like bringing their queen out early sometimes--big deal.  it's not worth discussing--maybe to some it is, but to most, what can we learn from a 300+ ratings beating?
