In this game I found myself lacking concentration towards the end of the game so dont worry about that but I need to no if my opening is sufficient and how I could improve my game altogether. I dont mind any constructive critisms but please dont make them rude ;) thanks

Calum.

I am not an English player so I don't know all the moves and variations, but I feel like 3. h3 was a very weak move.  Remember opening principles of controlling the center.  Also, it made for a weak castled position when you castled on move 7.  A better move for move 3 would of been Nf3. Maybe not the best as I don't know this opening and theory behind it, but it helps with opening principles of knights before bishops and controlling the center.  And f3 is a good post for your knight.

White's opening is slow an unambitious. White makes a bunch of pawn moves before developing any pieces. White then puts his bishops on d2 and e2 where they don't really influence the position.

This setup makes it easy for white to overlook the danger he is in and lose a piece with 10. Ne4?

White hung more material with 20. Rb7.

I would say you need to be more careful with giving away material for free.

Instead o focusing on your opening or anything else, I'd suggest just making sure that all of your pieces are sufficiently protected.  Without that, nothing else really matters.

You opened beautifully. It's a shame that you couldn't protect your high value pieces like your opponent.

Next time try d4 followed by Ne6 followed by Bb6. That's a spanish open ;)
