There are probably a lot of ways to win this endgame but what would be the most effective. embarrassingly, i ended up drawing the game because i couldn't promote any of my paws. (i originally tried to push with the pawn pair but reached a position where he would have no legal moves if i continued so i abandoned both pawns and tried to promote the far pawn, but he was able to capture both pawns and still prevent me from promoting the third...
Will someone please enlighten me
i don't know how to insert the game directly into the post so i will link to it and also post a diagram with black (me) to move.

p.s. i know that i missed a great fork opportunity on 18 and should have swapped queens on 36 in addition to numerous other mistakes/inaccurracies i'm sure

It's very very easy to win this end game. The most important feature is that you have a passed protected pawn. I assume that black is playing up the board by the way. The pawn on g3 is passed and protected. The white king cannot take it. However, the white king cannot take the pawn on f4 either - because as soon as the king takes this pawn the g3 pawn will promote. Eg. 1. Kxf4 g2 and g1(Q) next move. Even worse for the white king is that he has to stay near to the g3 pawn - if he tries to move over to the a file then the g3 pawn will promote.
Therefore, the black king calmy moves over to the other side of the board, takes the remaining white pawn and then promotes his own a pawn.

1...g2 2.Kxg2 Ke2-+ I think it's simple enough and you just promote your f pawn

the black passed pawns are mutally protected because if the king leaves the square of the g-pawn u just promote it. Therefore,u can take as long as u like to capture the a-pawn and promote your own.

Looking at your game on either move 58 or 59. If you had played Ke2! You would have protected your pawn against his king, and you could have safely promoted it.
thanks everyone for the help and advice,
after posting here i examined the position and saw a variety of ways to win. i'm sure some of you can relate that in the heat of a timed game sometimes things that you should have known escape your brain.

In the diagram, it is Black's 54th move. The win is easy. 54....Kc3 followed by marching over to and munching the White a-Pawn, queening the a-Pawn. Also, on move 58....Ke2 followed by f3, f2 and queening the f-Pawn. That's it!

But the quickest way to a win is kosmeg's suggestion.
thanks again
