I just played this 10-min blitz game. I'm not too concerned about how most of the game went, but just want to know if my queenside pawn advance was too slow of a plan. Any other advice would also be appreciated. Thanks!

No. You are forced to attack there! That's where his King was!
By the way, nice victory!

Thanks, DPG1232. It doesn't seem like black can create any efficient or sufficient counterplay while I'm marching the pawns, anyway. The king's exposed, there's the open c-file, and the Bg2 will add pressure to any attack.

Good game especially for blitz.  A little "win" that you missed (or possibly chose not to take) was 12 Ng5 Q a3 (probably not his best square, but it doesn't really matter) 13 Nxf7 forking rooks.

14 NxBf5 is probably not great as your knight is better than the bishop but I can see the double pawn appeal.  It's just that the knight might have been useful for your attack.  Your final trap was clever and cleanly done.  However, look at 21 Nxb7 RxNb7 22 Rc7 Rb8 23 Rxf7 all forced (I think, it is amazing what I can miss) and you at least can get your piece back.  On the other hand, his queen is so boxed in, it would have been difficult for him to get out of it even if he had seen it coming, so what you did was sound, not to mention successful.

For Black, who was in dire straits, I like 17....Nf-d5,  white would hesitate to kick it immediately with 18 e4 fxe 19 dxe as such would leave him open to discovered attacks on his queen.  and the move tends to simplify.

15. a3 is a waiting move.  It's perfectly fine in this position now that black's options for good play are limited.  So perhaps you should change your comment on the move from ? to !.  Your comment on move 17 is absolutely right.  Black is a little cramped, and trading pieces would alleviate some of the crampiness(slightly better for black is 17...Nfd5).    I think most GM's(if they had Black's position) would probably resign after 18. Qb3 because of the potentially trapped queen. However, on move 21 I think Bxf4 is ok and playable, but I probably would have gotten a little more excited seeing 21.Rc7 as the next move.  I think that move would force a resignation.

I badly typo'd when I posted the post #4 move 21 variation and just redid it.  Although thepitbull's suggestion looks good too and may be better.

Hey, everyone, thanks for all of the replies. I really do need to start looking more closely for tactics and/or faster wins. Generally (especially in blitz), I tend to look more at just maintaining a solid position and picking up time on the clock. Looking at everything in greater depth would go a long way.

It was very nice to look back at the game and take into account everyone's move suggestions. At the time, I saw the possibility for an attack on b7 (forking king and queen), but completely overlooked clearing the way with Rc7.

Thanks for all of the replies!
