    It fails because of 20...R(either)to c8 pinning the knight to the king

    Nope. White still has hopes after 21.Rc2.

    20...Bxe2 instead wins easily, e.g. 21.Rxe2 Rfc8 22.Rc2 Rab8, or 21.Nxe8 Nf4.
