maybe most of you know this, but i just posted it for those who didn't know this game. this is the Game of the Century, played by 26 year old Donald Byrne and 13 year old Bobby Fischer. in this game Fischer sacrifices his queen but still wins.

on 19. black, why not move Nxd1? I"m sure there's good reason but I can't see it.
One thing I've learned from playing the computer is be ready to strike at the right time to throw off your opponent!
That's the wrong question to be asking. The question should be, why should 19 ... Nxd1 be played? It's obvious (as a previous poster mentioned) that the rook will be taken anyway, so why rush into things when there are better moves to be made? In Fischer's continuation, he not only got the rook but also the d-pawn and the bishop with tempo.
