I was playing black. Probably the best game i ever played but i still lost after a comedy of errors.
Whipster
Black's fifth move was very poor - he should have recaptured with the Knight, since the game move allows Qh5+.
Why did you move your Knight back on the seventeenth move?
In short, you couldn't have checkmated White from the game position.

17...Rg8 18. Kh1 Ng4 19. h3 f3 20. hxg4 fxe2 21. Qxe2 Bg4 22. Qe3 Qg6 23. Qh6+ Kf7 24. Qxg6 Rxg6 25. Rg1 Rg8 gives you a pretty good position, at least.

14...Qh4 18. Nc5 f4 19. Bd2 Nf6 20. Be2 Qg5 21. c4, him challenging your pawn structure 21...Bh3 threatening mate 22. g3, the only move for white 22... Bxf1 snags a rook Qxf1 recaptures although this set of moves works to some extent, you give up intiative twice, giving possilbe points for white to stop you or advance his own plans, in the future try not to use you kingside pawns to do things, it opens up you king, especially how far they were advanced, white's bisops got nice open gound as a result, if you do move your king side pawns commit to castling quennside and do so as soon as possible and vice versa, king safetly is very important in most battles, generals try to keep a good distance form the center of the fray

The main error is the opening. Black played too poorly in the opening

you are giving up way too much material. Games at your level are usually decided by errors. The best thing you can do to get better is play carefully and dont give up material. Wait for your opponent to make mistakes and capitalize on them.
To Whipster,
Yes i agree that was a poor move, I should have used my knight to recapture the pawn.
Well overall i guess my 16th move decided the game i was drowsy at that point and on the phone with a friend now when i look at the pattern i think i should have used my pawn at f4 to f3 blocking white's bishop and breaking into the castled king providing opening my queen to advance for checkmate. To nate hmmm i don't like to use castling as it blocks your king's movement, I think pawn provide the best defence for king but at times you have to castle then i would mostly use queenside castling as it provides enough space plus gives rook a better position to move

The answer is Nxq and black will be Ng6 etc.

17...Rg8 I believe is the right move, instead of Ng8. Once the Knight is out, better keep it out!
