Going Alapine or Alps?

My latest league match, where I went from good position to bad and then again gained the upperhand.

During the game (around move 16-17) I feared that white would rush my kingside over. After the game analysis, I didn't find a clear answer.

I think 2...Nf6 or d5, hitting e4, are regarded as better

6...e6 makes the light-squared bishop as useful as an air-conditioner in Alaska

8.Be2 and Bb5 just loses a tempo for white

    10. Bxc6 moves that air-conditioner to the Bahamas

    white missed 22. Qxb5 Bxb5 23. Rc7 and Rec1

    great game!

Good comments! I haven't played Alapine's variation that often and that's why I felt myself a bit lost in the start. 2...Nf6 3.e5 isn't going to be a problem, but looked too messy for me. 2... d5 would have been a clear option, but didn't cross my mind.

6...e6 what can I say? After carefull thinking, I decided to focus on Queenside. So no need to keep access open there. But you're right.

10.Bxc6 I think white was a bit forced here.

    22. Qxb5 Bxb5 23. Rc7 and Rec1

23...Nc6 24.Rc1 Rfc8 and white is forced to change rooks. Drawish position to me. The reason why I went to exchanging Queens was the fear of Kingside attack.

    Ty for your analysis!
