Looking for annotated games in pgn

    Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some good games that are annotated for the beginner/advanced beginner, great if every move has a little explanation behind it, and preferably in .pgn format so I can download them. I've had a search around online and either the annotations seem a little thin on the ground, or I can't download.

    Any good links? Smile

Annotated games are usually copywrited, either by the author or the publisher.  That's why you don't see too many annotated games in some file in pgn format.  I can provide large databases of games, as long as they don't have other annotations in it, unless they are my own annotations.

Hi -- the two sites that I know of are:

    http://www.logicalchess.com/resources/lc/index.html

    http://www.50chessgames.freeserve.co.uk/indexsmall.html

That should get you started - hope it helps!

this is a nice chess page with over 3000 annotated games, good idea to scroll down the page and start with the New York 1924 ones:

    enjoy!

There are some annoted games at chesscafe.com in particular at http://www.chesscafe.com/archives/archives.htm#Inside%20Chess  although compared to the ones above it may not be as useful because they are not in .pgn format. There are some real top class games though.
