17.Ne5 was a mistake for sure, but I think things were already not going that well for you. Looking around the databases a bit, 7.Bd3 is not a terribly popular move. I guess because Black can immediately play dxc4 and you've lost a tempo. 7.Bg5 and 7.a3 are the most popular moves and they both show a better winning percentage than 7,Bd3. The third most popular move is 7.c5!? which has  a high winning percentage, although it looks quite double-edged to me.

Actually, 16...Nd5 wasn't a particularly good move form Black, and I think you could have gotten an equal game with 17.Nxd5. 16....Qb6 was stronger

Thanks for comments! Maybe i should have played 17.Nxd5. About Bd3 yes white kind of lost an tempo, But he is supposed to do it. The thing is white cant outwait black because blacks pawn at d5 is a strong pawn. Black has no reason to trade it against the cpawn. He rather let whites bishop stay at f1 and be a problem for him. The way i understand it c5 is the other mainline steering for a really complicated middlegame while the other mainline i dont remember completely is going for an endgame. I once had jakob aagards exellent book on the panov botvinnik but i lost it

I actually like rxe5. Then i continue swinging the rook over to the kingside with rh5 and black gets mated if he takes the rook.
