I lost this game, and ended my 12 game wining streak. Honestly, a friend of mine was on facebook and need to know stuff about my graduation on Saturday and needed information about school since he was starting next semester. So, blabbering away, I missed some good moves and made a huge blunder on 53 that result in a defeat. The lesson is: Either chat or play chess!
Correction: (15. Ng6) should say threatening to win a Rook.
My analysis, with your comments between quotation marks. (I'm not Rybka, of course, but at your level it can be useful).
The "blunder" of move 53 does not change the theoretical evaluation (drawn in both cases) but for practical play it makes a difference, of course.
EDIT : on move 15, ...c5 does not win the knight (16.Qc3), but it clearly makes Black's life easier.
You missed a mate in three at move 14.
you missed 14. Qh5+ with mate on f7. So 13. - Ke8 was a blunder, s/he should have given up the bishop on d7. And your knight sacrifice on f7 was, in hindsight, absolutely brilliant!
or did I miss something??
No, actually 12.Nxf7! wins for white.
you mean 12.Nf7
Merci beaucoup à Irontiger. Je ne peux pas regarder votre analyse maintenant, mais je la regarderai ce soir. J'espère que mon français est correct! Je l'ai étudié pendant deux ans à l'université, mais je ne le parle pas très bien. I also hope this site doesn't autotranslate text for non-english speakers, because it'll probably come out as garbage.
Oh my, I see the mate now. I'm finding hard to see mate when there are these many pieces on the board when I'm giving it 100% concentration, let alone chatting away. I just see 38 points left, and think there is no way there could be a mate. I see it sometimes in the tactics problems I do, so I think I'll get better. No, I know I will get better since I went down to the high 700's when I first started in March and have raised to 1091 (as of this comment.)
What happens after 13...Kf6?
14.Qh5 with mate to follow soon, e.g. 14...Qe8 (or Be8) 15.Ng4+ fg4 16.e5 mate-.
Yep, 14.Qh5+ with ...Kf8 & 15.Qf7# jumped out at me as well. This shows it really isn't a good idea to try doing two things at once !
Edit: Just had another look at your game & not sure about your preferred move - 53.Rd1. Wouldn't 53.Ra4 have been better still - you get a clear rook win whatever black does ?
