Most fun game I ever had ! Pawns to the 4th rank !

have you ever advance half of your pawns to the 4th rank. This is the first game that I did ...look at the position after 12...a5.

I haven't that I recall, though I imagine it's happened maybe once or twice.

 

I did, however, want to expand on your question by posting the following game between GM Alterman and Deep Fritz, which employed a very interesting strategy to beat a computer. Check out the position especially after White's 26th move:

oh my god.....after move 26 ! All of white's pawn is on the 4th rank! Surprised I never seen anything like this. Thanks for showing it.

It was a very interesting game. Alterman's strategy involved keeping as many pieces as possible on the board to bog the computer down in even larger amounts of calculations than usual, and incidentally led to that!

Altman played the stonewall and kept the position closed as shown by move 27 and 28.  Only one pawn was captured till move 34. Unbelievable game!

thanks for posting that Alterman game - really neat to watch - that pawn structure was relentless and he completed the game nicely.

wow. that game made me so happy. thank you! it was interesting to watch fritz take two pawns for the piece to relieve the pressure...
