For Black I'd see 20.Rxd4, then 21.Nxg5 Re2.

For white maybe 8.Nb1 is wrong (he can castle and then if Nd2 , Ne7). I would've tried 8.Ne2 Bxf3 9gxf3 and now white gets a strong f5 and white square attack against a castle weakening... Don't know if it works though...

I don't know their timing?

I think that in time of 5 minutes, they couldn't play in that way.

My timing is ever 5 minutes.

But - the "game of life" - is to much for the winner.
