well it goes awry, but the point of this is because i want to know if I'm any good at analyzing an attack...   so a big part will be checking out my anotations, becuase they will mean i actualy went into the analyisis board and checked out variations instead of moving based on general ideas and my mental calculations which tend to be short when im buisy...

the novelty (or at least i think its a novelty) may have been premature, but the idea of the attack is also a big part of what i hope you can help me with...

CERTAINLY, the combination of g2-g3 and Rg1 anti-positional, black is already better after it (what do you want , attacking with the g-pawn, or a finachtto?

If you want the first then h3 and g4 or Rg1 and g2-g4 are both better, if you want a finachettoe, then the rook on g1 is misplaced).

i saw that Qxf3...  but i figured on mating him quickly after his checks fizzled out which i think is right there... (which is as far as i wanted to think it through)   and forgot to add it :(  sorry...   he even mentioned missing it right after his move showed up...   which was funny cuz i missed my move too...

edit:  also, to mandleshtam, oops,,, i'm forgetting a lot of things again... i had already mentioned the sillyness and prematurity of Rg1 in the anotation, but took it out so i wouldn't repeat when i put it in the regular text for the post... but i forgot to put it in the regular text.  but like i (would have) said, i threw logic to the winds,,, i have to throw in something i haven't tried every once in a while...    and couldn't it be at least a little useful even if i intend to fianchetto, (which i fully intended to do until i got the idea to be abnormal, after i had already played g3, writing it off as subterfuge ),  i mean if im not going to castle kingside then it would defend an undefended fianchettoed bishop, right?

but then you either don't castle at all (not good, since black will open  the center with e7-e6), or to the queenside (also not good, since black is better on the queenside, and will launch an attack againt your king ).

so was the only reason this worked (until i messed it up) the fact that he played right into to, and let it happen? or did i do well to make the attack work?

I did not analyse the forthcoming events at all. It seemed to me, you played the second part quite inventive, and only at the end perhaps you did some (then noneobvious) tactical mistake(s).

    25... Qxf3+ 26 Kd2 Qxf3+ 27 Kc1   and there the checks are stopped... and he hasn't taken my pawns...

although i think 26... Qxe4 might be better, but it wouldn't be with check this time,   so i'd still get to play gxh7+ and my king wouldn't have been forced to separate my rooks, so maybe not better... ...

either way though,  your right,,, i wouldn't have any quick mating net in either case (or at least i didn't find one), and the peice would have been sacced for a worse position...

yeah thats what i figured with Qxe4,,,   but 25 Qxf3+, 26 Kd2 Qf4+, 27 QxQf4 RxQf4(or exQf4), 28 gxh7  and there i think i could maintain enough pressure to work some kind of plan out...    albeit a worse position for me, proving to true folly of my attack,  but not neccesarily a "lost" situation maybe?

    26. gxh+ before taking the queen is more effective.

but as i've been helped to know is that 25...Qxf3 makes the position favor black... so it wouldn't have mattered anyway....

OH... can anyone tell me if there was a point during my attack where it could have gone right?   as in,   did i have a winning position any time during it?

    11. h3 looks dubious to start with.

It's hanging. What is your compensation if he takes it and not the knight.

    a half open  h file...

Pretty speculative. How do you exploit the half-open file? I can't see any way.

Have you tried analyzing this in depth yet? After h3 show me a win in 10 moves. If not that then compensation. If not that.....

well theres a ton of variations, but its late, and im tired, so i likely didn't go over everything, but mostly everything i found looked alright for me...
