I think i played the endgame in this match quite well, he was higher rated than me at that moment so my rating shot up after by about a thousand (actually it was about 60)! I wanted to test myself so i accepted his challenge, i am glad i did...

I'd prefer 20...Ng4 threatening mate in 4 that's very hard to deal with. For example:

20...Ng4  21. d3 Nf2+ 22. Kg1 (not RxN because of Re1+) Nh3++ 23. Kh1 (forced) Qg1+ 24. Rxg1 (forced) 25. Nf2#  That sequence is worth memorizing.

 Also, you have mate in 10 on move 17.  It sounds like a lot but that's only because white can throw away some pieces to delay things.  You saw that the back rank was open so you should play 17...Qf2.  White can play Rd1 or Re7+ (you just take it).  The longest line goes:
