I usually liked to play 3.d4 against Philidor.

Black wasted time by 4...h6. 6...g6 created weakness in his pawn structure, which you exploited nicely. 22...g5 was another mistake (I would have played Rg8 or Rf6). 25...Qd8 was counter-productive. and of course 28...Qe7 was the blunder which finished him off.

A very nice finish. Of course, no game like this is possible without a little help from your opponent, but you grabbed your chances when they came. It's a minor point, but if you look at this game again, you might want to consider playing 5.d4 instead of 5.d3. Your opponent's 4...h6 was a bit of a time waster, and with an early lead in development, why not grab the center and open up the game a little at the same time?
