I think you overall played very well. Ofcourse there are some things to improve, but it happens to GMs too!
Sacramento City Championship 2015 (A/B section)
@TwoMove That's a good source, thanks for mentioning it. I thought ...f5 was just too optimistic- it's like Black was hoping I wouldn't play f3, when I had been preparing it for a while. Rc1 is almost certainly not the main move- don't tell my opponents but my "default" plan if I can't think of anything to do in the QGD is to control the c-file. That's probably not a healthy thing to do but opponents at my level frequently fail to combat the open file strategically. I do like your idea of ...c4 and a queenside pawn storm for Black. At my level (class A) the QGD gets misplayed a lot, not just due to lack of theory but also due to lack of strategic understanding. I still have a lot to learn but the game you suggested is a good place to start!
In the first game, can look at games from the Kasparov v Belyavsky candidates match '83, which feature the Ne5 mentioned by the FM. They are annotated in quite a few places. 10Rc1 is something of a nothing move, but black self destructs nicely for you with 13...f5. Maybe black can try 11...c4, 12Bb1 then a6, intending to get the queenside pawns moving with b5etc.
