Shredder 11 Match #1

I've been doing a lot of reading lately and one of the things I've felt fascinating was the concept of material sacrifice for development gain.  I started experimenting against my Shredder 11 engine just to toy around.  One thing I'll state up front is that I have one heck of a time beating the computer even at lower ELO ratings, so I find I have to lower it quite drastically to have a chance.  I hope to be able to slowly ramp up its strength over time.

Anyhow, on with the show!  I almost abandoned this game early on when the king had to start dancing around but I felt it was quite an amusing match:

lol. great game. I have a few examples of bringing the king out early and winning. but i did it to spite my opponent have a look... Highly unusual and simply wrong play. On purpose. THE KING WALK

I don't think your computer understands what a pin is :/

    Amanultra:

Both of those games in your post were great.  A king prancing around is certainly entertaining :)

    RainbowRising:

I was a bit surprised at the pin as well.  I think it's simply because the ELO was lowered enough to make it human, as it initially started off fairly strong with the king-side attacks.

I think it was set to something around 1200 or so.  The odd thing with setting a computer ELO is that I feel the computer often times far exceeds its own setting, yet once in a blue moon (such as the pin situation in this match), it failed to realize the situation and played much worse.
