A nice little game that I won. It was a pleasure to play the opponent.
Any advice you have with the game, please let me know.
Many thanks in advance.
3. Bd3. This move blocks the d-pawn and stunts the development of your pieces. It also allow syour opponent to play 3. ... d4 with a large central space advantage. How about 3. exd5. If your opponent recaptures with the queen, then 3. ... Qxd5 4. Nc3 develops a second piece and attacks the queen. You then have a big lead in development, so keep the lines open, trade central pawns if you can and attack.
Black plays 9. ... c6 and then recaptures on d5 with the queen and not the pawn. This makes moving that pawn a waste of time. Black would have been better off playing 9. ... Be7 and castling as soon as possible.
16. ... Rd8. Black needs to castle so that the king is safe.
22. Bxa7, your bishop winds up getting stuck and you lose it.
28. ... Kb7? and 29. ... Kb8?? are big mistakes that allow you to checkmate, black could have consolidated his position with 28. ... Kb8 and 29. ... Qb7. Or after 28. ... Kb7? 29. Qxe4+ Qc6.
