Dear ladies and gents,

Most games of chess include forksEmbarassed  Let's look at how a queen's forking at two pieces take place in a match between Larry Christiansen and Anatoly Karpov.  Karpov, being a former FIDE World Champion, missed a devastating shot from Christiansen.

Here Christiansen made Qd1, attacking both the bishop at d6, just moved by Karpov, and the knight at the edge.

We should be careful of Queen's fork at matches!

    Love,
    amntony

Cuz it was just about the worst hang Karpov made in his life (at least, while a GM).  The only others I can think of comparable for him was the queen hang against Short and one time he hung the exchange in a K-K match.
