Just finished this game today and would like some imput from the board.  I've gone over it a few times, but I'm always fascinated with hearing your thoughts. I play as black.  Hopefully I didn't screw up my notesSmile  Now I have to post a game that I lost against him, because I could use the added analysis

**EDIT**  Notes should be fixed now!

Somehow, all of your notes are a move too early. Doesnt matter, though! Im not a fan of 1. c4 f5, but you appear to have pulled it off. Sorry I can't do any analysis right now, but I'll take a look tomorrow.

    1. c4 - English Opening. The English opening move avoids a number of Black defenses and proceeds on the more deliberate idea of counterattacking in the center, often in conjunction with fianchettoing both Bishops.

1...f5 - English Opening / Anglo-Dutch Defense. Here Black for the moment ignores the reality of a White first move advantage and goes for counter-attack. If you have an aggressive nature, give it a try. Be aware however that White wins just better than 14% more of the games than Black in practice.

2...Nf6 - Dutch Defense / Normal. The natural Knight-developing move behind the f Pawn is a Bird's Opening, reversed.

4...Bb4 - Out of Opening Book. d5 would have been in the Dutch Defense / Queen's Knight Variation book opening. Pins White's knight at c3 and clears the way for a kingside castle.

    9.d5 - Bb4 is better for white.

    10...0-0 - Qf6 would be more aggressive.

    21...Qf6 22.Rd4 Ne5

    24...Nd6? - Leads to 25.Bxe6+ Kh8 26.Qe5 Qc7 27.Bxd5, which loses two pawns. This was black's only significant error.

    25.Qe5? Frees Black's pawn at e6 from the pin. Leads to 25...Nf5 26.Bxf5 Rxf5 27.Qb2, which wins a knight for a bishop.

    30.f5? - Leads to 30...Qc5+ 31.Kh1 exf5 32.Rd1, which loses a pawn.

    31.Rxf5? - Leads to 31...Qc1+ 32.Kf2 e3+ 33.Kg3 Rxf5 34.Qxf5 d4, which wins a rook and a pawn for a rook.

    34...Qd2+ 35.Kf3 Qf2+ 36.Kg4 Qxf5+ 37.Kxf5 e2 you saw a wining combination.

Nicely played. I love how doubled pawns can actually be useful at times, and not a weakness as many believe. Good play with the Knight as well.

Used your knight well.  Loved how you brought the king out, then pushed it away with your queen.

    I think white missed a strong 25 Bxe6+

    Fun game
