Hello everyone! I have a tournament coming up this saturday, so I went down to a chess club and played a couple of games. Please help me see what I did right and what I did wrong :)
Interestingly enough, at the beginning he was acting like I would be no problem and he could beat me easily (he was texting and talking and stuff). Nothing sweeter than being underestimated and proving them wrong!
This close to the tournament (tomorrow?) I don't think analyzing a few games will help much. I'd brush up on your tactics, review some of your openings (if you have any), and maybe do some practice end games against a computer program or friend (rook end games especially!). Make sure you eat and sleep well before, during, and even after the tournament, and have fun!
I'd be happy to help analyze the above and your tournament games afterward if you want. What kind of tournament are you playing in?
@KingsEye thanks for the advice. The tournament ended and I won 3 out of 5 games, tieing for third. Tiebreaks put me down to 5th place though, but overall it was good and fun.
Can anyone explain to me the tiebreak system?
I'm not quite sure without the score sheets (who beat who when and final scores) but most likely it was strength of opposition and possibly head to head result(s).
Can you post the games, specifically the two you lost? Good tournament result!
