    I'm not partial to chocolate and sweets in general lol

    Hows this, if you do not want to watch my rating eventually claw it way past yours, start improving further than you already have.

    That's an admirable position to take, but it flies in the face of the evidence to date. Your highest blitz rating was in 2011 (13xx) and has gone down since.

    I wish you luck in your improvement, but without a realistic assessment of where you are and what you need to do to improve, you will just be spinning your wheels.

    Considering I've gone up 200 points in the last month and have taken on 1500s with a good game, soon - at least that is what I hope. If it takes a year, then it takes a year. But I will be better.

    While I won't doubt that you'll improve the law of diminish returns suggests that it's much easier to go from bad to average than it is to go from good to really good, so the better you get the slower you'll progress.

    Blitz? So what about blitz? I prefer to play longer games and always have. Blitz just sucked me in for awhile....it does that lol. I will improve and pity on those that don't believe me.

    @Scorpion

    I fully understand that. However, even if I do slow down or even stop for awhile, I certainly won't give up.

    @Senator

    Fine. 12 months. Whether I make it or not I will make sure to show improvement.

    So, your realistic assessment of how to fix your blitz rating is to stop playing at that time control?

    Ok.

    That may solve the problem of losing at blitz, but it will not address why you lose at blitz.

    There ya' go. Right towards the least logical conclusion.

    My Blitz rating began to fall rapidly because I was starting to take more and more time on moves, especially in situations where I knew I had the advantage. I probably lost at least half my games on time alone, even if I was in a winning situation. Anyway, Blitz doesn't say much about your ability to analyze. It does, however, say quite a bit about your ability to move faster or see tactics that are often not quite correct in longer games.
