Cheers, thanks for the replies. Anybody know about the Java Program itself? Is it limited to a certain number of projected outcomes because of memory limitations Or a timeout? Or is there something amis with my PC?

If anybody has the source code for Little Chess Partner I'd love to Check it out. This is about the fourth time in two days the little bugger has crapped out on me.

Actually, I have a sneaking suspicion perhaps memory isn't being freed up somewhere in the program after each game (either because of the applet itself or because of the Java runtime environment version I'm running) so after a while the garbage builds up until the Java runtime environment collapses the applet. Could explain some of the other unexpected behaviour of the program.

Anyway, I'm not going to post about this again, this isn't a programming forum and I'm not a programmer anymore. If you know where I can find the code let me know though, It makes me unhappy when programs don't work properly. Cheers :)

It was created by the lokasoft company. If you want a real challenge, go online and install winboard and crafty and play the program (it's safe and unlimited and free and very powerful). You will gain a topnotch sparring partner.

By the way, I don't know if this has been said or fixed but this program cannot draw by threefold repetition, I tried once and it just kept going on for like 30 moves until I got bored and had to make a losing move.

Yeah, just to point out, the program cannot draw by threefold repetition or 50 move rule.
