Tonight I played a club tornament game and my opponent played e4.  I had studied the Ruy Lopez and hoped he would play that, but instead, the game went as follows.

6...Qe7 is the right move at that point, but you would have better avoided that losing line entirely by playing 4...d5.

move 7...Qc5 is key move

yea, I know...I got really lucky, I looked deeper into this last night and especially after 7...Nxe4 , 8. Qh5 I'm in deep trouble.
