Did I go wrong somewhere in the opening and how should i play to effectively stop those passed pawns with my extra knight?

There were more moves but they got cut off.  Basically my opponent missed he could capture my knight and i brought it back to the kingside.  I lost my bishop for the pawn on b2 but used my pawns on d4 and e3 to get a passed pawn in which black sacrificed his bishop for.  Eventually the position reached a draw. 

Was this a blitz game?

No, Game 60.  I started blitzing him at some point tho cause he was low on time.
