Why endgame technique is important

An equal game is given life from superior endgame technique.  Very good game, which GM's would have agreed to a draw.

Pawn vs minor piece is generally winning for pawns. 3 connected pawns vs rook is a win for pawns I believe. You had tremendous advantage. There is no way GMs would ever draw in that position.

    White also played quite poorly.

Move 29 > Rybka has the game dead drawn.  I suppose that is what I'm going off of when I say GM's would have drawn.  Just for the layman it is not hard to see that he must get his king to the queen to help stop the pawn onslaught and then it will be very difficult to convert the win for black and GM's would drawn :)

You mean the endgame? Or the entire game.

Well yeah..that was the point of the post.  Should have been a draw, and he lost because of the endgame
