Few days ago, I submited in the forum an endgame from my game: An interesting strugle for draw, and a few remarks about differences between human minds and progr

To complete this, I submit now the opening and midlegame too. And I add some remarks about a question which can confuse beginers: how to use an opening base and handbooks? I found that at chess.com, at the begining, they said it's unfair to use handbooks and databases during the game, but after a short discusion conclusion was it was imposible to demant. F.e.: I like to play French defence both as a black and as a white, and in every moment here I have few games in progres with this opening - you can't say I must not watch other games in French all the time!

You need not use programs for analysis - during your game, you need to use your own biologica CPU Cool, but you can use "external memories" - this is a difference to OTB game. So, if you wish to improve your skils, you need to study openings - before the game, after it, and during the game.

There is few free databases on the web, as chessok.com, with few milions of games. You can search for a good line, and follow it. They even give you a statistics for every move: how many games, and how many of them won white, black, or was drawn. You can choose moves with good statistics.

However, in every game, usually between 10th and 15th move, your oponent will play something new, what is not in database. And then, if you only mechanically follow the line, you will be lost in space Tongue out.  During your study of openings, you need to try to understand a logic of possition and why stronger players chose this move and not other.

And the best is, of course, to find a good improvement - a move which maybe can be better then solutions played before! Laughing

The rest of the game you can see here: An interesting strugle for draw, and a few remarks about differences between human minds and progr

You can say, maybe, that I gave you not a real analysis - no variations. It's true. Maybe we meet on the table, even at the same tournament (2nd round) and you will try the variation? I wish not disclosure all my secrets! Sealed

Not for everyone english is their first language.. It's easily understandable so why make this remark?

Lydia, I always enjoy reading your analysis/thoughts. Very good stuff! Nice game too.
