    knowing 2 little pieces for endgame knowledge really helped here:
     
    1: Rook + Bishop vs Rook is a draw (theoretically)
     
    2: Bishop + Rook's Pawn vs King is a draw if the king is in front of the pawn and the pawn's queening square is the opposite colour to the bishop...

    The rook pawn and bishop of the wrong colour is often something I aim for when I'm losing, it's worked for me a few times.

    The Bishop vs Rook, you must be a little careful, I think of all the "theoretical draws" its the easiest one to mess up. You have to run with your King to the opposite colour corner of your Bishop.
