That gambit is fun but that ...d5 defense thing is annoying and leads to a quick endgame. I used to play the goring gambit (1.e4 e5 2.d4 ed 3.c3 dc 4.Nxc3) which isn't as dangerous and can create good attacks but ...d5 is still there...

I play a bit of Danish too, but generally prefer not to gambit the b2 pawn as my own experience has been that Bc1 is stronger in the early opening at least, than Bb2. So I usually go with a Goring, what Alekhine called the Semi-Danish.

But I usually play the Marshall move order 2.d4 then 3.Nf3 since it makes it less pleasant for BL to play ...d5, and some other details. Often c3 will be delayed till after Bc4 or even o-o, and then ... dxc3 usually met with the Qb3 zwishen-zug before Nxc3. Tried it?
