Your opponent's opening (e4 d6) is called the Pirc (I may be wrong), but after Nd7 I had no idea what they were doing.  f4 may have been a bit too ambitious, like you said... I think c4 would have been better as it accomplishes a similar grasp on the center without exposing your king.

You made some good observations. I think that above all you played well but aggresively like me! His passive position ended it.

But it is the austrian attack right?

No, it wasn't the Austrian Attack.  Since your opponent never did fianchetto his bishop, it's not the Pirc either.  I think you'd have to call it some weird sort of French (or CaroKann).

I agreed with tonydal the pawnstructure clearifies after black's 5th move into a caro-kann - french structue. The stragetical play in this pawnstructure is about wheater or not black can apply enough pressure to d4. One thematic break for White is c4-d5.

It looks like a failed attempt at the hippopotamus defense (as strange as it sounds, it exists), but as tonydal already said, he never fianchettoed his bishops. I guess he changed his mind on move 4, opting instead to challenge your strong central pawns.
