lol, I would have loved to have seen the look on the poor guys face at the end.

Maybe Bb4+ wasted a little bit of time, white can chase it away. 18 ...e4, yes, you're right, that might have really put a bit of a clamp down on white. He had a nice attack going but blundered a couple of times. Stay vigilant man! But it's very good that you spotted them afterwards at least. Most people probably don't.

All in all, not a bad showing at all.

not a bad end position xD

some thoughts:  dont' give up bishops so easily - unless it strengthens your center, bishops are awesome in endgames.

13. ... Qd7 allows 14. Nxe5! so 13... dxe4 was best.

not bad though. keep playing otb!

After 47...c2, White should have gone after Black's K with Q and R and could have ended the game shortly after.  For example, after 47...c2 mate in 4 was possible.

Nice debut, General! The comments above were all accurate, but alternatives are more easily found in post-game analysis then they are with an opponent staring at you across the board. You kept with it and he blundered last. (Plus you studied where you went wrong instead of just saying, "Wow, that was lucky!" and moving on. That's how to improve.)

As I'm sure you have reflected, the game is a lot more difficult and fraught/exciting  OTB than sat in the comfort of your lounge with all the modern trappings i.e. books/articles/database etc.

When's your next outing?

lol it's the simple replies that often escape us. (ex, my tourney game from last tuesday that i haven't had time to analyze yet, but lost because of a hasty blunder)
