this has been one of my best games ever.  i'm new to competitive chess, so i'm sure i've missed some stuff likewise for the opponent.  but i think it was pretty strong. (or at least it worked out how i planned it... i.e. opponent didn't find my blunders)

I played black.  i welcome analysis/criticism if you find blunders

------

kinda old post.... i like the game but now it seems so-so

Well played.  I thought I was the only one who fell for the back rank mate.

notice that whites only wat to avoid mate is to lose rook for bishop, and lose the game anyway...

so this might be a nice suicide move (or a weak opponent

some variants i planned out before setting up the rooks and queen trade. all moves were planned starting from what to do after 23.Qe3

if 29 Re3  then Bf4 (to trade B for R)

if 29 Re1  (i think best move) Bf4 attacks d2, Rd1, pawn to d2, R to f1..  i'm not sure what to do after this, but i still liked it enough to trade rooks for the Queen.

29 Rd8 looks like a good move, but it was the one i was hoping for.

in the end, i felt good b/c of 29...Qf4.

if the d2 rook moves left or right, pawn takes.

if Rd3, back row mate

if Rd1, Qh2+, Kf1, Qh1#

if Rd7+, Ke6 and repeat

if RxB or anything else then QxR with the d-pawn soon to be Q

-----

i'm sure there are plenty of flaws in the match by me, but after 29 i think it's solid.  usually and unfortunately, my traps miss the option that has the "!" or "!!" after it and especially when playing blitz style (17.Nb6 looks more dangerous now than it did during the game or when i posted the first time. BxQ option is the setup/distraction).  anyway i'm a bit of a virgin on the long-term crushing planned move game and it feels good when things work out like they are suppose to for once instead of "it would be a perfect plan..... if it weren't for that damn pawn"  .... (i'm baiting myself for critique now, better put on some shades for the bright lights.)Cool

If 12..Bd6 13.Nc4 b5 13.Nab6 Ra7 a knight remains trapped.
