    wow

never thought such a mate could ever be pulled off in a game

Most of putting him into the corner was forced. Admittedly he did mess up. But at this time i only had about 1 min left on the clock when i was down to these pieces.

And yes there were blunders on both sides during the game, I was just astounded with the great resulting mate.

In many of Silman's books, he says he doesn't teach B+N vs King mate because a player shouldn't waste his time learning an ending that will take hours to master and is extremely rare. I don't get it. When I had a rating of 1023, I mastered it in 20 minutes in a book by Glen Flear.

I believe it's not about mastering.. . obviously i did not always make the best  moves because i was in time trouble.... it's more process and knowledge of how to get to the corner than anything.

A rather rare mate which is why Silam never taught it. But anyways, Kudos to you on a fine checkmate!

I checkmated a guy with just 1 knight once.  It wasn't a smothered mate, but it was the next best thing.

That's just about the best you can get with a knight. =)

How do you mate with a knight and bishop? I never learned how.
