Enjoy.
Wow...the Hippo's bite really is fatal... good game.
Forgot to say that "ML" stands for move-list in my annotations... and, believe me, there's a lot on that move-list. The analysis kept me busy for a fair chunk of time -- I tried to address many of the alternatives in the final sequences of attack/defense.
wow that was awesome - definitely an opening id love to play - thanks for sharing man!
After being away from the chess scene from some time, I just now got around to reading an article on the "Horizon Effect". Does anyone know if that's the reason behind Rybka accepting the bishop-sac -- it basically "thought" it could survive in that it obtained no evidence to say otherwise?
are you saying you beat Rybka 3 singlehandedly?
No, I'm saying that I defeated Rybka 2 using both hands, my brain, an anti-engine opening, and the luck of stumbling upon a position that Rybka was unable to properly calculate.
Thank you for the skepticism (I'm not being sarcastic), I honestly find that to be a very healthy trait.
Speaking of the engine oddities, I should mention that Rybka gave itself about +.50 to +1.50 during the first 20 moves. On 25. ... Bxh4 it went to 0.00 and stayed that way until it started sacrificing pieces like mad (coming up with -8.00).
