Feller
This game is against my personal chess engine called chess companion. It is set at level D1 where every square on a chess board is a difficulty level A1 being the easiest and H8 the hardest. It has been playing a lot of the more strange and rarely seen lines of the Alekhine lately including the Mokele Mbembe (which in my opinion is under rated but dangerous none the less). Here is a variation I have never seen before in study or else where. The line is solid though I think not consistant with the idea behind the Alekhine.
Anyone who knows this line I would love to know about it.

why not 17. Nd6 - that feels the most natural to me.
well played!
erik- yes Nd6 was more natural and a good move, I suppose I was just trying to keep that file open for rook play... either way I suppose
i would have sunk Nd6 and then worked on getting a new open file on the queenside.

Yeah the Mokele Mbembe I would think was underrated too, if knew what the heck it was

I don't really understand what you are talking about. This is not a 'line' of the Alekhine. The computer decides to get out of book with the move 3...e6. This is nothing critical; white should have no trouble after this move. If you are going to study up, focus on 3...d6.

There are some nice tools here in Chess.com, you should use them:

The explorer was not working when I posted this free cat...
And tonightonly- I am not studying this 'line' it is just what the computer played and it intrigued me having never seen it before. I was asking if anyone had seen it, and what it was.
Here is an example of Mokele Mbembe against the same computer on lvl D3, only 2 levels higher than it was set in my first game. The line I choose is one of antiquity and I will denote more common moves as I go.
