Hi Chess World,
Can anyone please help my friend understand the basic rules about castling? He claims to be rated 1990 USCF, but started to abuse chess.com and me because he was unable to castle. It made me laugh but maybe you can help my friend out by telling him the rules.
Here is our dialogue:
CheckMeQuick_: why can't I castle?
CheckMeQuick_: what the fruck
CheckMeQuick_: queen side is ok
ProfessorKnox: can't see it?
CheckMeQuick_: i can castle queen side
CheckMeQuick_: did not move king
CheckMeQuick_: computer error
ProfessorKnox: dude, my knight is blocking d8
ProfessorKnox: are you for real?
CheckMeQuick_: un frucking unbelievable
CheckMeQuick_: frucking chess.com
ProfessorKnox: don't blame the site
CheckMeQuick_: it would not let me castle
CheckMeQuick_: who do I blame?
ProfessorKnox: are you on drugs

CheckMeQuick_: fruck you
ProfessorKnox: my knight blocks ur d8 square
CheckMeQuick_: you win on computer error
CheckMeQuick_: no it does not
CheckMeQuick_: your night is on e3
CheckMeQuick_: i can castle
ProfessorKnox: you can't pass through the square it is guarded
ProfessorKnox: my knight is on e6
CheckMeQuick_: my king does not land on the square dude
CheckMeQuick_: my king ends up on c8
CheckMeQuick_: learn the rules
ProfessorKnox: it cannot pass through the square that is guarded
ProfessorKnox: ur a joke
ProfessorKnox: go back and learn the basics
CheckMeQuick_: play checkers
CheckMeQuick_: you don't know chess
CheckMeQuick_ has left the chat.
This is the Position:
Here is the game:
it is strange how a 1900+ player doesn't know this simple rule!!!!!
CheckMeQuick_ uses his tounge for a good language having a bad brain for the game knowledge
I'm more disturbed by ProfessorKnox's music career. Got to his homepage LOL!
The last youtube video has a line "Rise up, time to take control, time to take these motherfuckers out before they rape your soul!"
haha that's right, time to End the FED!
Actually the rule in question is a little bit apocryphical. Only those who have opened a chess book that mentions the rules of the game AND read that particular part are aware of it. The rest learn it when a situation that this rule must be applied occurs over the board and their opponent happens to know it.
looks stupid if you ask me
And your friend will soon be banned from chess.com forever for cheating. He has two accounts.
Good point! If this is reported to Kohai, they'll terminate his accounts!
hahahaha! What a joker!
thats a shame...
I agree with CheckMe Quick there's obviously some kind of conspiracy :)
