well...I finally got uscf membership...so after competing in a club tournament I thought I would share a game from it that I played...It was my first win from the tournament...let me know any mistakes that I didn't annotate or some better things I could have done...

well the first obvious problem is your 3rd move. Bd3 blocks your d pawn, which in turns blocks your dark squared bishop from developing.
Your 5th move is totally unnecessary. Once again you need to use the opening to develop your pieces, i.e. with Nc3 for example.
regarding black's taking of the f2 pawn, many beginners will think that taking the bishop and knight for a rook and pawn is an even exchange, but it's not at this point. The developed bishop and knight is worth more than the undeveloped rook and pawn.
Black's 9th move Nd4 is way too aggressive. Once again he needs to develop as well. His queen pawn isn't even out yet and he's moved both of his knights multiple times already.
regarding your comment on move 30, how is your rook stuck? All you have to do is move your bishop away.
all in all I think your opening was pretty bad but you built and kept your advantage pretty nicely. I'd say you're about a 1200-1400.
I have several 1200's and 1400's in my club.
They do not play this badly.
You must not play chess in the real world much.
I noticed the blockage of my queen after I moved it but I felt the need to add support to my pawn...I suppose I didn't need to
on my 5th move...I don't know what I was thinking, after looking at it later I saw my mistake
on the rook comment...during the match I didn't have any sense to move the bishop until way later in the game...
yeah my opening was awful...sadly though I haven't been playing too well my past games as uscf member (a total of 11) and my estimated rank is actually 750 (yikes!) hopefully the next few games will go smoother...and also, is it 25 games that you need to play to get an official rating?
uh, I'm over 2000 OTB. I know of what I speak. And I'm not using Rybka to analyze unlike you, and it doesn't matter much if he made the 5th best move instead of the best move on many moves. I do admit I don't play 1200's much though.
Your online rating means crap to me.
No 1200-1400+ plays this badly in the opening at my local club.
I only see this kind of play from players rated around 700-800+.
Kosoku_Inazuma
I dont see how ppl give this guy 1200-1400 rating....hes more like a 750-800
guys, 700 to 800 rating people blunder like crazy.
sure, almost all his moves were mistakes from a positional POV, but i don't see any blunders at all. hanging pieces? no.... random sacs? no.... bad tactics? no....
Maybe at your club. I played an 800+ and the manager analyzed the game. We found no hanging pieces, no random sacs, and only a few blunders that lost the game.
Honestly, you should try playing chess outside of the internet.

Yereslov is just a troll. This is the 4th thread that I see him trolling so just ignore him.
Bacon-n-Eggs
I'd say 750 is pretty accurate. However, we all start somewhere, and at that level, a few tweaks can pay big dividends.
"Trolling" doesn't exist.
It's a subjective term.
It's more of an insult than anything else.
ChristianSoldier007
lol all this debate over what the guy's level is
i know! i feel so flattered, lol...even after already saying what my rating was they're still debating...it seems as if a debate is innevitable here at chess.com no matter what the thread may be about
true dat :P

I dont know why a weaker player is trying to correct a stronger player. Whether that guy played like 800 or 1200 or 1400, It still doesnt change the fact that he needs to learn to develop his pieces effectively. 3. Bd3 is a big mistake.
Perhaps the chess community is a bit too hung up on ratings. The important thing is that you're playing OTB. I started in January 2010 after playing some turn-based chess online. I learned much more playing OTB than I ever did playing via computer.
So enjoy it. Study some, try your best each game, and the rating will take care of itself.

You know you can just look up your rating at uschess.org, right?
But overall, nice game. Haha

He already posted it (#6).
Concerned about trolling, again
